Inglewood Secures First Win of Season Against Dorsey

For the sixth consecutive season, the Los Angeles Rams teamed up with RISE, a national nonprofit that educates and empowers the sports community, to eliminate racial discrimination, champion social justice, and improve race relations, for a leadership and community-building program and panel discussion that welcomed local Dorsey High School and Lincoln High School’s varsity football teams. According to the Rams, this year’s initiative will include five sessions for the varsity football players from the two schools.

The King/Drew Golden Eagles baseball team routed the Dorsey Dons 20-2. The victory gives the Golden Eagles a 7-4 overall record and a 1-1 Coliseum League record.
Dorsey junior Heaven Halibyton is a dual-sport athlete, competing in basketball and volleyball. She has been on the varsity teams of both sports for two years.
The Crenshaw Cougars boys and girls basketball teams defeated the Dorsey Dons. Both Cougars’ teams battled on defense to secure their victories.
The Dorsey Dons football team executed four touchdown passes to defeat their cross-town rivals Crenshaw High School 42-7. The Dons have a 4-0 record in the Coliseum League and the Cougars have a 1-3 league record.

Recent Dorsey graduate Harrison Allen used his raw talent in baseball to pitch for the Dorsey Dons. Last fall, he helped the Dons football team earn a 10-3 overall record and a 5-0 Coliseum League record to qualify them for the Division I playoffs.
The contending season of the Dorsey softball team came to an end on Thursday when they lost 19-4 to the Orthopaedic Vipers in the first round of the Division III City Section Playoffs. The Donnas end their season with an 8-2 overall record.
Among the 32 first-round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft, five were natives of Southern California. Oregon edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux, USC wide receiver Drake London, Washington corner Trent McDuffie, Ohio State wide receiver Chris Olave, and Utah linebacker Devin Lloyd had their dreams come true on Thursday.
Dorsey senior Cameron Washington has a natural talent when it comes to athleticism. This has helped him be an efficient dual-sport athlete for the Dons, being a linebacker for their football team and a catcher for baseball.
After COVID-19 shut down the program for two seasons, the Dorsey Dons baseball team returned to competition. This year, the roster consists of many athletes from different sports who are learning the fundamentals of playing baseball.
