Black Americans have to be involved at all levels of responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. We cannot afford to be silent, detached, denied, or prevented from being at the decision-making tables in terms of COVID-19 public health policies, research, clinical trials, remedies, and vaccine development. Our lives and future are at stake.

Black Workers More Likely to Face Retaliation for Raising Coronavirus Concerns

For instance, Amazon fired Black and brown workers who have organized to demand more substantial health and safety protections. Thousands of Instacart workers, many of whom are women of color, are reportedly waiting for face masks and hand sanitizer promised months ago.  Three out of every four Black workers who took the survey said they showed up to work during the pandemic even though they believed they might have been seriously risking their health or the health of family members. Less than half of white workers said they had done the same.

Hampton University to Collaborate with Nigerian Scientists on Water Quality Research

The Hampton University Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry hosted professors from Nigerian universities on November 20, who collaborated with HU professors on water quality research. Last week, a team of scientists from two Nigerian Universities were visiting the U.S. to tour several selected Water Quality Research and Management Laboratories.
