L.A. County Gives Updates on Safety Compliance Certification Program: Businesses Self-Certify and Train for COVID-19 Protocol

The self-certified training program starts with watching a video, then one would complete a brief survey after the training visual, lastly the business would receive an emailed certificate. This is operated by the Los Angeles County Health Department. The program is completely voluntary, but it is put in place to prevent the spread of coronavirus among guest and staff.

Los Angeles County Remains “Cautiously Hopeful” as COVID-19 Data Reflects a Decrease in Key Benchmarks

The public health director explained that the decrease in numbers and signs of stabilization are due to the hard work the community did in unity. Businesses and residents that created a space of compliance and concern for safety is reflecting on a county scale. Although the public health department remains cautious, they also remain hopeful of the community and the continual unity in stopping the spread of coronavirus. The Department of Health Services will Lease Medical Space to Respond to Health Issues in South East Los Angeles

Solis introduced a motion that passed on Tuesday; the Department of Health Services will lease medical space to respond to health issues in south east Los Angeles. At this new health center there will be primary care providers, nurses, case managers, case navigators, and other caring personnel to provide health services during COVID-19 and after the pandemic.

Mayor Garcetti Announces LAX will have a Travel Safety Ambassador Program

The mayor Announced that Los Angeles International Airport will have a Travel Safety Ambassador Program. It encourages passengers to practice physical distancing and follow hygienic guidelines, in the Southwest Terminal 1 and at the Tom Bradley International Terminal there will be ambassadors to hand out free masks.

Wednesday, July 22, Los Angeles City Mayor announced the launch of the L.A. Mask Print Project. It will help reach even more people with a clear message: when you wear a mask, you stop the spread of COVID-19 and keep everyone healthy and safe. “The city is looking to collaborate with small business throughout this directive, to distribute posters through Los Angeles.
