17th Annual Black College Expo hits LA Convention Center

  Thousands of students with folders of college information filled the Los Convention Center as the 17th Annual Black College Expo brought representatives from across the country to show Los Angles what historically Black colleges and universities have to offer on Sunday, Feb. 8 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The halls were full of young, Black students with gleaming eyes ready to speak to representatives of close to 100 colleges and educational programs, including Howard University, Tuskegee University and Fisk University. Roger Goodell says the existing stadiums in St. Louis, San Diego and Oakland are ”inadequate and unsatisfactory,” and the proposals the Rams, Chargers and Raiders received to remain in their current cities lacked certainty. A person who has seen the report told The Associated Press on Saturday night that the NFL commissioner sent 48 pages to team owners and cited a lack of longer-term solutions in plans to build new facilities. The National Football League is conducting a search for a temporary stadium in the Los Angeles Area, it was reported.
