Los Angeles native Marisa Hall can add Commissioner at HACLA (Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles) to her extensive resume and list of achievements. Marisa, who is one of the three African American women on the Board of Commissioners, was appointed on September 6, 2022.
The Los Angeles African American Women’s Political Policy Institute (LAAAWPPI) has opened the application process for its 2021 Leadership Development/Public Policy Instruction class. The Los Angeles African American Women’s Public Policy Institute is the premiere leadership organization offering development to African American women.
The track record of the Los Angeles African American Women Political Action Committee (LAAAWPAC) is pretty good, especially in light of the many Black women who attained elected office through the group’s fundraising efforts.
Senator Bradford honored Ms. Michelle Smith-Ballard, as the Woman of the Year for the 35th Senate District. Ms. Smith-Ballard currently serves as the Vice President of Community and Citizenship for Turner Construction Company with over 38 years of construction experience. She is responsible for the diversity outreach program on the construction of the new, state of the art Los Angeles Stadium and Entertainment District at Hollywood Park in Inglewood where she is overseeing one of the largest diversity and local hire programs in the region.
