First Ladies Health Initiative sponsors a Back to School Party on July 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the First Ladies Health House, 2249 South Hobart Blvd., in Los Angeles. The Southern California Region of the CME Church will open their Spring Convocation and Quadrennial Celebration on Friday, April 13, at Lewis Metropolitan CME Church, 4900 S. Western Ave., in Los Angeles. Bishop Bobby R. Best, presiding prelate of the CME Ninth Episcopal District, will oversee the gathering. The Rev. Travis Morris is the host pastor. Warren Chapel CME Church will mark its 72nd anniversary on Sunday, January 21, at 3:30 p.m., at in the edifice located at 1039 Elberon Ave., in San Pedro. According to Pastor Adam D. Stevenson, the theme is “Saved to Serve” based on Ephesians 4:11-13. The guest preacher is the Rev. The 2016 Los Angeles District Conference of the Southern California Region of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church will convene on Friday, February 5 through Saturday, February 6, at Lewis Metropolitan C.M.E. Church, 4900 S. Western Avenue in Los Angeles. The Rev. Mark A. Hardin, Los Angeles District presiding elder will preside. The Rev. Willie B. E. Boyd, Jr., of Lewis Metropolitan C.M.E.
