Location Change for Special Board Meeting June 8, 2018 Announced

The Special Meeting was called for last month when the Board of Trustees, at its regularly scheduled meeting on May 9, approved an appointment process to fill an open seat on the board.  Persons interested in seeking the appointment had until May 31 to submit applications.  In all, 27 people submitted applications.

LACCD RELEASES STUDENT HOMELESSNESS AND HUNGER REPORT

At a press conference at L.A. Trade-Technical College, the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) today released a far-reaching report that shows more than 60% of student respondents experience food insecurity while more than 18% of students are homeless in the past year.

Dallas Fowler will not face her opponent Ernest Moreno in a May runoff. Although the March 7 elections ended in a close race for the Los Angeles Community College Board of Trustees, seat 4. Fowler’s 46 percent to Moreno’s 54 was not enough to continue.
