His last exhibit is a display of legacy and contemporary stand up African-American comedians, producers, writers, publicists and venue owners.  The exhibition honors past African American stand-up comedians and features current African American comedians of achievement. New STEAM Lab Unveiled at South L.A. Elementary School

The Positive Results Corporation Honored Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas with the Champion of Peace Award at its fourth annual awards dinner and fundraiser. The dinner was held at the Carson Community Center on Sunday, October 27. Raising money for the foundation, over three hundred guests enjoyed music, dancing, and a silent auction. The afternoon ended with a panel discussing surviving domestic violence.

Kaiser Invests Over $4Million to Combat Homelessness in SoCal

Kaiser Permanente officials are aiming to become a part of the homeless solution in Southern California with a $4.3 million grant to Los Angeles and San Diego for more affordable and secure homes. Those counties, officials said, have the highest rates of homeless with the least affordable housing. The grant will help to create and preserve 75 affordable and/or permanent supportive housing units in the two areas.

Ex-UCLA Employee Awarded Nearly $1.6M in Harassment Suit

The Los Angeles Superior Court jury rejected Nicole Birden’s claim that she was fired in 2016 due to her race, but the panel determined she was subjected to severe or pervasive harassment because she is black and that her supervisors failed to take corrective actions.
