In partnership with the National Newspaper Publishers Association (NNPA), Matthews-Alexander and Chevrolet have invested heavily in the future of Black journalism while simultaneously supporting students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities. On Thursday, September 17, 2020, Matthews-Alexander will receive the NNPA 2020 National Leadership Award.
They are doing this through coaching, training, customized programming, systems development, innovation, integration and automation, recognized these disturbing facts, and determined to help address it.

The racial consciousness and discourse of the West was forged on slave ships carrying human cargos into the Caribbean and the Americas. The search for agricultural commodities and profits from the extreme exploitation of Black people, deemed as less than human, gave birth to the notion of racial inequality.
Initially, they did not share the same views, but they grew to support each other.
