Los Angeles Nonprofits Receive Over $1 Million in Economic Development Grants from Bank of America to Stimulate Business and Neighborhood Revitalization

Bank of America announced $1,124,000 in economic development grants given to 52 nonprofits that help stimulate local business and neighborhood revitalization in communities across Los Angeles. Nonprofits receiving the funds provide services ranging from affordable housing and community development resources to small business support and arts and culture programs that stimulate the local economy.

Wells Fargo employees will support Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) and its coalition partners as part of a volunteer event on Saturday, October 27, 2018 to support the revitalization of the Washington Neighborhood. Wells Fargo has awarded Habitat LA a $100,000 grant to help complete the project.

Report Reveals Disturbing Gap Between Cost of Living and Actual Wages in L.A.

A recent report by the USC Price Center for Social Innovation revealed that Los Angeles’ job market may not be sustainable under an ever increasing affordable housing crisis. The city’s fastest growing industries, including healthcare, food service and technical services are hurting, said researchers, because workers cannot afford to live in the L.A. area. High living costs are forcing longer commutes, making it harder to recruit and retain workers.
