Honda Battle of the Bands Comes to L.A.

The Honda Battle of the Bands (HBOB) will be held at SoFi Stadium on February 1, 2025. There will be six HBCU marching bands that will perform in the showcase and fans have until August 15 to vote for two marching bands at https://www.hondabattleofthebands.com/home.

Chevrolet and NNPA Discover the Unexpected Journalism Fellowship Launches its Fourth Year!

Each year since 2016, General Motors’ Chevrolet brand has partnered with the NNPA, a trade association that represents more than 200 African American-owned newspapers and media companies around the country. The Discover the Unexpected Journalism Fellowship provides a $10,000 scholarship, $7,500 stipend and the road trip of a lifetime to between six and eight students selected for the honor.

Thanks to Hyundai and Taste of Soul 2018, Kyle-Kyson Clark is one step closer to becoming the“modernday Dr. Seuss.” The 26-year-old Florida native and children’s book author is the 2018 winner of the 2nd annual Hyundai and Taste of Soul giveaway. Clark was selected out of over 100 video submissions. The requirement was a short video clip of contestants telling Hyundai how they make LA a better place.

NNPA, Chevrolet Launch 2018 “Discover the Unexpected” Journalism Fellowship in Detroit

Chevrolet and the National Newspaper Publishers Association (NNPA) have teamed up once again for the “Discover the Unexpected” (DTU) Journalism Fellowship program. The fellowship, in its third year, gives students attending Historically, Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) the opportunity of a lifetime: an eight-week, immersive training experience with the Black Press.
