Campaign Underway to Honor Coach Kim Taylor, Sr.

A campaign has been launched to provide financial assistance to Kim Taylor, Sr., a longtime educator at local schools throughout greater L.A. Known to many as “Coach,” Taylor is in need of a heart transplant and kidney transplant and is currently undergoing physician clearances to prepare for surgery.

“Right now, under the Affordable Care Act, it is your right to have access to lactation support and counseling without cost-sharing for as long as you are breastfeeding. If the ACA gets struck down, then insurers will not be required to cover it, which could have devastating impacts on new parents,” noted Andrea Ippolito, a health tech expert and founder of SimpliFed, a company that assists mothers who breastfeed.

“People are stressed and worried, not only about caring for themselves but protecting and caring for someone in the home or someone long distance,” Choula stated.
