Twelve years after the mining of the genesis block in the bitcoin network, cryptocurrencies have seen a historic rise in popularity with investors. The cryptocurrency market value has surpassed $1 Trillion for the first time as Bitcoin reached an-all-time-high of $39,000 per coin.
Long Beach State University is ranked the ninth best public college in the western United States by U.S. News & World Report, the fifth most applied to university in the nation and ranked high for matriculating students who graduate with the least amount of debt. Forbes ranks CSULB as one of America’s best-value colleges because of its great return on investment.
“This recognition by Forbes serves to further highlight the excellence of our faculty, the accomplishments of our alumni and the ongoing efforts to provide access for students across all income levels,” university President Jane Close Conoley said. “This survey of the higher education landscape underscores the importance that everyone – particularly students and parents – places on affordability and the ‘return on investment.’ Our placement in the rankings shows that while there is more work to be done, we are on the right track.”
Leaders from the Long Beach Unified School District, Long Beach City College, Long Beach State University and the city of Long Beach unveiled the 10-year anniversary report today showing The Long Beach College Promise initiative has produced significant gains in student achievement over the past decade.
“We are delighted to be recognized for what many call ‘return on investment,’ ” President Jane Close Conoley said. “Increasingly, Long Beach State University is recognized for its academic excellence as well as for its workforce preparation. When our students graduate, they join more than 300,000 alumni who are engaged and leading in their chosen careers and fields, and our inclusion in ‘Colleges That Pay You Back…’ underscores our efforts and their accomplishments.”
The workshops will provide strategies that cover the spectrum of Black male life from the personal to the public, at home and in the world abroad.
In March 2015, CSULB implemented its Basic Needs Initiative – a campuswide program with targeted services to address housing and food insecurity among students
Funded by Associated Students Inc., 22 West Media is a nonprofit auxiliary organization of CSULB, operating for students and by students.
They also hope to apply the findings to more common conditions beyond ICA to head and neck injuries, cancer, Alzheimer’s disease and autism.
