Congressional Black Caucus Calls on Secretary Perdue to Rescind Proposed Rule to End SNAP

The Congressional Black Caucus sent a letter to U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue regarding the recent Notice of Proposed Rule Making (NPRM). This NPRM, which was published by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)entitled Revision of the Categorical Eligibility in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program,  would harm millions of hard-working families who rely on SNAP.

The Congressional Black Caucus will launch a new taskforce that will focus on the upcoming 2020 Census and the legacy of under counting the African American community. Members of the CBC will meet with stakeholders and leading professionals to discuss the current state of play.
