Assemblymember Mike A. Gipson’s Statement on the Death of George Floyd

“As a Black man who watched the George Floyd take his last breath while the 200 lb. weight of a police officer was leveraged on his neck for 8 minutes, I was overwhelmed with pain and anger. George repeatedly pleaded that he could not breathe as two other officers held him down in that fatal position. Another Minneapolis officer watched as his body succumbed to the attack and went limp. 

Lifting the Veil Forum Highlights Mental Health Illness

Los Angeles World Airports Selects Cecil Rhambo as Chief of Airport Police

Last Thursday, October 10, 2019, the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) announced that following a nationwide search, former Assistant Sheriff of the County of Los Angeles Cecil Rhambo has been selected as the new Chief of Airport Police. Upon completion of a background investigation, he will replace and report directly to David L. Maggard, who was named Deputy Executive Director for Law Enforcement and Homeland Security this summer after serving as Chief of Airport Police for three years.

City of Carson Moves Toward More Wastewater Recycling Programs
