This past season, sophomore Payton Walk helped the Crenshaw girls’ basketball team become City Section contenders. Although this was her first year playing varsity, she was co-captain of the team.
Initially, senior Dominique Allen intended to only play basketball for Los Angeles High School. During her years there, she decided to compete in track and field and volleyball and developed a fondness for them.

Senior guard Kailyn Watkins helped give the Crenshaw Cougars girls basketball team a competitive edge this season. Her contributions helped the Cougars get a 22-7 overall record and a perfect 10-0 record in the Coliseum League.
For the second year in a row, the Blazers of Sierra Canyon took home the CIF Southern Section Open Division Final title in a classic 59-48 win over the Mater Dei Monarchs on Friday at the Pyramid in Long Beach.

Since the beginning of 2020, the King/Drew Golden Eagles boys basketball team has been on a winning streak. With only four losses this season, the Golden Eagles are ranked 35 in the state.
The Gardena Panthers football team ended their rollercoaster season with a victory after defeating the Marquez Gladiators 14-8 in the City Section Division III Championship. Gardena has not won a City Section championship since 2000.
The Crenshaw Cougars football team remain undefeated in the Coliseum League play after defeating the Dorsey Dons 51-0 during their Homecoming and Rivalry game. Dorsey made costly turnovers and the Crenshaw offense bested the Dorsey defense.
The Morningside Monarchs football team had a lot to fight for in their matchup against the Los Angeles Romans on Friday. Not only were they looking to end their four-game losing streak, they wanted to protect their true home field.
Senior linebacker Q’marr Allen is using his voice to create change at Los Angeles High School. Not only is Allen a captain of the football team, but he is a leader in different ways on campus.

Senior Udochukwu Ebiriekwe has become a prominent figure at Crenshaw High School. Along with being a multi-sport athlete, he is the ASB Vice President and a member of the sports injury prevention program Team Heal.
Dorsey senior Jaidin LaCount has been playing on the varsity girls basketball team for four years. She helped the team put on a contending campaign this past season with a 16-7 overall record. The Dons also won the Coliseum League title with an 8-0 League record. After averaging 9.1 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.2 steals per game this season, LaCount was named on the 2019 All-City Division II team. “This team is much closer than the previous year,” LaCount said. “We win games more simply because we have a better connection with each other.” LaCount noted how playing in the
