On September 10, Crenshaw alum Daiyan Henley will have his NFL debut as a linebacker for the Los Angeles Chargers.
King/Drew senior Sadiq Henry is a dual sport athlete who was team captain of the Golden Eagles football team during it’s inaugural season. He noted how the skills from football and basketball give him a competitive edge.
The Inglewood Sentinels routed a young Dorsey Dons football team 44-6. This game marks the first win of the season for the Sentinels, they fell to the Carlsbad Lancers 29-6 on August 18.
Graduating senior Kourey Patterson is continuing his golf career at Alabama A&M University. He helped the Palisades Charter High School boys golf team win CIF City Section Championships in 2021 and 2022.
The Los Angeles Rams recently invited local high school varsity football coaches to their training facilities for a clinic. The coaches heard remarks from Rams head coach Sean McVay and from associate manager of high school football Ghalee Wadood.
Recent Inglewood graduate Kenyon Agurs is heading to Colorado State University to contribute to their football team in the fall. Agurs was named “Mr. Inglewood” after competing in basketball, football, and track and field during his high school career.
Crenshaw high school basketball star Quincy Reese Jr. was killed on Saturday night in South Los Angeles. The 16-year-old is remembered for his passion for basketball as well as his proficient academic efforts.
The Carson Colts track and field team concluded their season with a trip to the CIF State Championship, where they competed in sprints, mid-distance, throws and jumps.

In their last game of the season, the Crenshaw Cougars baseball team defeated the Hawkins Hawks 8-3. The win gives the Cougars a 4-2 overall record, placing Crenshaw in third place in the Imperial League.
St. Monica senior Nayani Lewis will be attending the University of Maryland Eastern Shore on a golf scholarship in the fall. She noted how she connected well with the women’s golf head coach Tiana Jones.
Sierra Canyon high school basketball standouts Judea “Juju” Watkins and LeBron “Bronny” James Jr. were elected to be 2023 McDonald’s All-Americans. The high school hosted an assembly to honor the two student athletes on Monday.
The Cultural Inclusion Foundation (CIF) kicked off Women’s History Month with its inaugural event by honoring 40 high-profile women, including Councilmember Heather Hutt and social change activist Marie Lemelle, on March 3 in Hollywood.
