The Urgency of Now – A Reflection on African American History Month 

What time is it? It’s time to re-engage the fierce urgency of now and continue pressing forward on the issues of the day. It is time to stay involved, focused, and intentional in preventing voter suppression. It is time for truth telling about the heinous and abominable side of American democracy. We have no time to relax.

TEACHABLE MOMENTS REGARDING THE NATION’S CULTURE: IS IT TIME FOR HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS TO HELP PLACE GENUINE EQUALITY FRONT AND CENTER IN OUR NATIONAL DISCOURSE?

January 6th, 2021 was intended to be a day of ceremonial ritual that underscored the strength of our democracy, and the commitment we as a nation have to a set of principles, values, and ideals that anchor our embrace of the constitution of the United States. Students in universities and colleges, in K-12 institutions, and even mature adults could treat it as a civics lesson, for there were many teachable moments in this season of election politics.

Los Angeles Amateur Radio Club (LAARC) Hosts Annual Field Day Exercises

The LAARC will set up for Field Day on the campus of California State University Dominguez Hills, 1000 East Victoria St., Carson, California 90746, in Parking Lot P1 on the northeast end of the campus east of Birchknoll Drive.  Throughout the country, more than 35,000 people will be participating, with ham radio operators setting up radio stations in unusual locations and making contact with others as a display of emergency communications capabilities.
