Feb. 18 Musco Center for the Arts at Chapman University presents Black Violin on February 18 at 7:30pm. Classical music hits the street in the crackling performance of Black Violin, a duo of classically-trained musicians who have created an entirely new sound. This distinctive, peerless combination of virtuosic string talent mixes with a driving beat, shattering stereotypes with electricity, energy, and contagious enthusiasm. Feb. 10 Amid growing concerns about California’s punishing, often abusive criminal justice system, members of the Los Angeles chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America will host a clinic to replace broken brake lights for area residents free of charge. The event will be held at the northwest corner of Florence and 8th Avenues in Hyde Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on February 10th.
