Dr. Battinto Batts Leads ASU School of Journalism in DTLA

Dr. Battinto L. Batts Jr. is bringing his expertise as a veteran journalist to minority students attending the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism & Mass Communication in Downtown Los Angeles. The ASU California Center in Los Angeles is designed to meet the needs of students and lifelong learners. 

USC Dominate Arizona State 64-49

USC sophomore guard Rayah Marshall hit a career-high of 21 rebounds and grad student forward Kadi Sissoko scored a season-high 23 points to defeat the Arizona State Sun Devils 64-49.

Student Athlete of the Week: Jayden Daniels

Arizona State junior quarterback Jayden Daniels lets his talent and effort on the football field speak for itself. During his three seasons, he completed 6025 passing yards and committed 32 touchdown throws. He also showed his athleticism through his 1288 rushing yards and 13 rushing touchdowns.

Student Athlete of the Week: Chase Lucas

Arizona State grad student defensive back Chase Lucas is the captain of the Sun Devils football team this season. His efforts as a leader and a competitor helped Arizona State come in third in the Pac-12 with an 8-4 overall record and a 6-3 league record.

Arizona State University Renames Film School to Honor Sidney Poitier

In an interview ahead of The Sidney Poitier New American Film School’s unveiling, University President Michael M. Crow said Poitier embodies everything that one would look for in an icon. “With Sidney Poitier, it’s his creative energy, his dynamism, his drive, his ambition, the kinds of projects he worked on, the ways in which he advanced his life,” Crow asserted, according to USA Today.

Student Athlete of the Week: N’Keal Harry

Harry currently leads the Sun Devils receivers’ corps with 62 catches for 928 yards and nine touchdowns. This helped Arizona State earn a 6-4 overall record and put them in second place of the Pac-12 South.
