As we step into 2025 in a county going through turbulent changes, one thing remains constant: our community’s resilience. Our community have always found ways to rise above challenges, keep our loved ones grounded, and stay true to ourselves. This strength extends to how we care for ourselves, express our beauty, and uplift our spirits.
Beauty is more than skin deep—it’s a form of self-care and empowerment. And where we spend our money in 2025 and beyond is an important factor in understanding that we have power.
And with great power comes greater responsibility. We make effort to highlight brands that not only deliver excellence but also invest in and celebrate the African American community. Brands like Glossier and Huda Beauty have consistently supported our growth and amplified our voices in the beauty industry.
These new drops remind us that beauty is power. It’s about self-expression, self-love, and celebrating who we are through products that resonate with us. From Glossier’s Black Cherry Collection to Gucci’s captivating fragrances, there’s something here for everyone.
Here are some exciting new drops for January 2025 that bring beauty and innovation
Glossier’s Black Cherry Collection
Glossier has long supported the African American and BIPOC communities. In 2020, they invested over $1.1 million in African American beauty entrepreneurs through their Glossier for Good program, which provides grants, business programming, resources, and partnerships. The initiative even expanded internationally in partnership with Black Girl Fest in the UK.
Last year, the Glossier Grant Program invested $300,000 in grants to five African American-owned beauty businesses in the U.S., paired with a curated curriculum led by the Glossier team.
Now, they’re kicking off the year with the Black Cherry Collection, a dark cherry red lineup featuring fan-favorites like Balm Dotcom, Lip Line, Cloud Paint, and No. 1 Pencil. This bold collection reflects Glossier’s minimalistic, high-quality approach while giving us shades that pop.
