The Los Angeles Alumnae Chapter (LAAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in partnership with Crenshaw United Methodist Church will host a free Legal Aid Fair on Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event will be held at the church’s campus located at 3740 Don Felipe Drive in Los Angeles. The Rev. Royce Porter Sr. is the host pastor and the Delta co-chairs are Alois Phillips, Evynn Davis and Winnie Young.
“There is a great need in our service area for affordable, low/no-cost legal assistance during this time of significant inflation, job insecurity, and housing challenges,” said Kemba N. Miles, chapter president.
“The Legal Aid Fair is a resource-rich opportunity for the community to receive important information and tools to enhance their quality of life and navigate the system,” she continued.

Alternate Public Defender’s Office, the Legal Aid Foundation of L.A. and private attorneys and specialty groups. The panelists will discuss a range of topics including Estate Planning, “Know Your Rights” Criminal Panel Discussion, Landlord/Tenant Issues and Worker’s Compensation. A free Expungement Clinic will be available on-site, along with free legal consultations.
“We are charged to educate, empower and serve as members of the community and we look forward to seeing everyone on the 29th,” said Miles.
