Property owners having challenges paying their monthly mortgage may benefit from attending the free presentation sponsored by Brookins Free Legal Clinic on Saturday, December 8 at 2 p.m.

The session will be held in the Fellowship Hall of  Brookins Community A.M.E. Church, located at 4831 South Gramercy Place in Los Angeles.

“This presentation is designed to assist people seeking home loan modifications. Attorney Justin Clayton, who is highly experienced in helping people with troubled mortgages deal with banks, will share his expertise in this area,” said Pastor Gregory K. McLeod I, Board Chair of Brookins Economic Development Corporation.

“Despite reports that the housing market is recovering, many residents continue to struggle to meet their house payments.   Through this and other free sessions, we aim to offer information and resources to improve the quality of life for residents in our community,” he added.

In addition to the presentation, volunteer lawyers and professionals will be available to give legal guidance on small business and nonprofits, family law, government benefits, housing and evictions, immigration, juvenile delinquency, litigation, probate, wills and trusts.

Also, assistance with criminal expungements will be available.  Interested clients are asked to bring the criminal record of each charge, a photo ID, and a pen.
