Hyundai kicked off their return earlier this year by participating in the Road to Taste of Soul, where they gave away a set number of philanthropic donations to local charities including Mothers in Action, Brotherhood Crusade, and the Amazing Grace Conservatory. Now that the road to Taste of Soul has officially ended with the 13th annual family festival just one week away, Hyundai is ready to announce the exciting entertainment that will hit the Hyundai Soundstage and the unforgettable fan experience that will accompany it!
Last year, during the 2017 TOS festival, Hyundai brought star power to the stage with performances by Brandy, Melanie Fiona, Kool Moe Dee and Doug E. Fresh just to name a few. Similar to the previous year’s entertainment, the performers on the Hyundai Soundstage are sure to please festivalgoers.
Event attendees can expect to see some of the hottest old school R&B and hip-hop artists the music industry has to offer. The Crenshaw Drumline will start the show followed with performances by:
- Kurtis Blow
- Chante Moore
- Ginuwine
- Teddy Riley featuring Blackstreet
What’s better than one DJ? Two, which is why the Hyundai Soundstage will welcome back DJ to the stars, DJ B-Hen and a secondary MC to keep the Hyundai Soundstage crowd hyped during the festival. Journalist and television personality Roland Martin will host the stage.
Along with the stellar performers that will grace the Hyundai Soundstage, Hyundai has created the ultimate fan experience at the Hyundai activation pavilion. There, fans can step into the tent to power up their phones. Don’t worry about missing the show. Hyundai has you covered. Event goers who hang out in the Hyundai activation pavilion can never miss a beat of their favorite artists as they watch the live entertainment on LED screens streaming from the Hyundai Soundstage jumbotron.
While waiting for their phones to power up, festivalgoers can also enter to win a 2018 Hyundai Kona Limited. This car giveaway is part of Hyundai’s “Reimagine Everything at Taste of Soul Los Angeles” contest. The winner of the car will be announced in November 2018 at the L.A. Auto Show.
That’s not all. The Hyundai Soundstage is also the new home of the annual StarQuest Singing Competition which was created by Bakewell Media as part of Taste of Soul.
TOSgoers who visit the Hyundai Soundstage, will have the opportunity to see the ten finalists from the live, online and mobile app auditions, perform during the final round of the StarQuest Singing Competition. After their performances, celebrity judges will determine the two winners of the singing competition (one adult and one child).
Don’t miss out on the live entertainment. Grab your friends, neighbors, and family members and head over to the Hyundai Soundstage on Saturday, October 20 during the Taste of Soul Family Festival. Festivalgoers who are interested in seeing Teddy Riley and Blackstreet perform will need to arrive early as they are set to hit the stage at 1:00pm. Get the latest stage information sent straight to your phone by downloading the Taste of Soul mobile app on Google Play or through the Apple Store.
