Educational Webinars Aim to Help Close the Capital Gap for African American Entrepreneurs
The Valley Economic Alliance will present a series of free webinars in recognition of Black Business Month. Programs will take place on Thursday, Aug. 12th, 19th, and 26th from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
The first program is entitled Build Your Business Credit, and features an educational presentation by Nicholas Williamson of HSBC Bank. The second program is entitled Financing Your Business, and features presentations by three Community Development Financing Institutions, all of which offer alternative lending programs with more flexible loan terms and accommodate a variety of credit scores. Speakers include: Richard Palley, AmPac Business Capital, Marsel Watts, CDC Small Business Finance, Selena Davis, Pacific Costal Regional. The third program is entitled Marketing For Growth, featuring marketing expert Roger Roman of PUSH Consulting.
The Valley Economic Alliance is committed to closing the information gap, capital gap and network gap experienced by many African American businesses through our Onyx African American Business Hub. Outreach partners include: the Black Business Association of Los Angeles, CSUN College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, and the Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce.
