For the 20th consecutive year, the Venice Beach Gospel Crusade Rally will light up the boardwalk with praises to God.

The free event, set for Saturday, August 19, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., will take place at the corner of Pacific Blvd., and Windward St., in the Venice district of Los Angeles.

Dr. Judith McAllister and David Daughtry will be among the artists, speakers and clergy that will minister to the hundreds of people that are expected to attend.

“The purpose of this event is to reach souls for Jesus Christ in the hope that people from all walks of life will be saved,” said organizer Joann Daughtry.

“People of all ethnicities, denominations and background attend this gospel crusade and learn about Jesus Christ. Many accept Jesus as their savior and are set free, delivered and baptized in water and the Holy Ghost. Also, people of God learn how to give, serve, witness and minister to the fortunate and unfortunate of this world,” she added.

Daughtry, who attends West Angeles Church of God in Christ, have been in ministry for more than 30 years. A missionary and evangelist, she founded Disciples on the Move after the voice of the Lord directed her to lead an outdoors meeting at Venice Beach. Holding the initial rally near a graffiti pit on the beach, the crusade is now feature a large stage, food court and vendor area as well as a site to conduct individual and intercessory prayer and counseling.

As she prepares for the 2017 crusade, Daughtry declared, “We are taking the gospel to the beach and I am issuing an urgent call to pastors, evangelists, missionaries, witnessing teams and soul winners to come and help us win the lost!”
