The Cerritos Center of the Performing Arts (CCPA) welcomes back the spirited COLORS OF CHRISTMAS celebration with a medley of seasonal and Pop tunes. This annual celebration features two-time Grammy winner Peabo Bryson headlining a talented lineup, which includes Taylor Dane, Jon Secada, and Deniece Williams. They deliver greatest hits and yuletide songs individually and collectively in this CCPA audience favorite. The performance takes place at 8:00 PM on Saturday, December 8. Grammy winner JON SECADA, who began his music career as a backup singer-songwriter for Miami Sound Machine, is known for the hits “Just Another Day, Do You Believe in Us?”, “Angel, and Window to My Heart.” Secada has sold more than 20 million albums and was christened the “Best-Selling Latin-American Recording Artist” by the World Music Awards. The Orange County Register called him the “first Latin male crossover sensation [who] helped pave the way for the likes of Ricky Martin.” Secada has starred on Broadway’s hit musical “Grease,” “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” and “Cabaret.”
Grammy-winning singer-songwriter-record producer DENIECE WILLIAMS released the album “Let’s Hear It for the Boy” in 1984. The title track reached No. One on the Billboard Hot 100 and was featured on the soundtrack to “Footloose.” The song was Williams’ biggest Pop hit of her career – and the last. The songstress is more celebrated for her accomplishments in the Soul-Funk genre, receiving Grammys for the Gospel album “This Is My Song” and the Gospel songs “I Believe in You, They Say” and “I Surrender All.”
