Orlando Presents ‘70s at 70 Birthday Concert’

Grammy-Nominated Artist/Percussionist Victor Orlando, known as the ‘”Percussionist to the Stars,” presents “70s at 70 Birthday Concert” on Tuesday, November 22, at Catalina Jazz Club, 6725 Sunset Blvd., in Hollywood.  The red-carpet opens at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 8:30 p.m.  1970s style dress is optional.

Universal Music Faces Federal Lawsuit For Recordings Lost In 2008 Fire

Representatives of several artists who lost master recordings in a 2008 fire at Universal Studios have filed a class action lawsuit seeking at least $100 million in damages, according to multiple media reports. The rock bands Soundgarden and Hole, country-rock singer-songwriter Steve Earle and the estates of rapper Tupac Shakur and rocker Tom Petty are among those suing Universal Music Group over the fire in its Los Angeles vaults that allegedly destroyed master recordings made by those and other artists. B.B. King Museum Celebrates 10th Anniversary

In 1949, a fight broke out at a dance in Twist, Kansas. During the melee, a barrel filled with kerosene, that had been lit earlier to warm the party, was knocked over. As flames licked the dance floor, B.B. King, a twenty-something musician, escaped into the cool Kansas night with the rest of the party goers. But King had forgotten his guitar inside. On that fateful night, risking his life, he ran back into the building to rescue his prized instrument.
