Brookins-Kirkland Community AME Church will hold a Community Health Fair on Saturday, August 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 3719 West Slauson Ave., in Los Angeles.

Free blood pressure, blood sugar, cardiovascular, dental and confidential HIV screenings will be available along with giveaways and important information, said Pastor Mary S. Minor.

“We invite the public to bring your entire family to this free event and take the opportunity to get the status of your health,” said Minor.

Also, the church will observe Annual Stewardess Day on Sunday, August 27, at 3 p.m. The Rev. John Nance, Brookins-Kirkland associate minister, will be the guest preacher. Mother Carrie DeVaughn, president of the Stewardess Board, along with other Stewardesses, will participate in the service.
