The Black Professionals Network (BPN) Los Angeles Chapter hosted its “Black Women in Excellence” power networking mixer at the Gathering Spot in West Adams on March 20 to shed light on the remarkable journeys of this year’s honorees who have not only excelled in their respective fields but have also made indelible impacts on their communities in recognition Women’s History Month.

“During Women’s History Month, we are privileged to spotlight the outstanding accomplishments of these 10 impactful Black women. Their achievements resonate deeply with the core mission of the Black Professionals Network: to champion diversity, empowerment, and excellence across industries,” said Kenasha Paul, CEO, Black Professionals Network.

BPN is in its 10th year with chapters throughout in Miami and Chicago while its Los Angeles chapter has been in operation for three years. BPN is a social enterprise dedicated to empowering 1 million Black professionals on their journey towards increased earning potential and lasting legacies. BPN provides a resource-rich network to advance careers, businesses, and households.

The 10 remarkable local professionals whose contributions were honored included: Veronica Clanton-Higgins, CEO of VCH Prosperity Consulting; Leslie Jones, owner of 1010 Wine and Events; Keshia Adeniyi-Dorsey, Esq.; Taylor Torregano; Dr. Shawna M. Charles, owner/founder of the Charles Communication Group; Charvon Jones, founder of the Centinela Christian Child Development Center; Sharis Rhodes; and Juliet Udeochu, vice president, Community Manager & Business Development, JPMorgan Chase. Dr. Tammi Mac and Niele Anderson were also honored for their work in media.

“I’m so grateful to be honored among great women who are doing exceptional work while giving selflessly to the communities they serve,” said Dr. Charles whose company is in its third year. “Networking is key to success. While networking is not always easy for everyone to do, it is still extremely vital in order to grow your business and profession. Organizations like BPN provide great programming throughout the year to help professionals with growth opportunities.”
