The Mount Moriah Baptist Church of Los Angeles will conclude the 37th Year Appreciation and Recognition Celebration of Pastor Melvin and Lady Jacquie Wade on Sunday, April 22, at 4 p.m., at 4269 South Figueroa Street in Los Angeles.

The guests will be the Rev. A. D. Iverson and the Paradise Baptist Church congregation and the Rev. Daryl LaBat and the members of Greater Metropolitan Baptist Church. The special guest preacher will be Bishop Noel Jones accompanied by the City of Refuge Church family.

“The theme for the occasion is ‘God’s Chosen: Our Shepherd’ taken from Jeremiah 3:15 and the emphasis is ‘Empowering Our Church with Prayer Partners’ based on Acts 6:4 and Acts 12:5, which highlights Dr. Wade’s role as pastor and the effective methods he has used in his leadership of the church during his tenure spanning more than three decades,” said the Rev. Al and Mrs. Dorothy Fontenot, program chairs.

“Through the pastoral leadership of Dr. Wade, Mount Moriah continues to have an impact on the body of Christ, crossing denominational lines, engaging in national and international missionary causes, and throughout the community-at-large.

“He also constructed the Mount Moriah Senior Villa, a forty unit apartment complex for seniors to live independently. It was built in honor of the organizing pastor of Mount Moriah, the late Dr. Earl A. and Mrs. Olga W. Pleasant.”

The public is invited to attend the celebration. For more information, call (323) 846-1950.
