Comedy connoisseurs across the nation are bubbling with excitement about the first installment of Shaquille O’Neal and Jeff Clanagan’s, All-Star Comedy Jam series dropping soon in stores on September 8th. Featuring some of America’s most celebrated A-list stand-up comics, the DVD unleashes 89 minutes of unprecedented sidesplitting, bellyaching, and uncensored barred hilarity on topics ranging from America’s new president to shopping at Target.
Filmed before a zesty and spirited crowd in Phoenix, AZ, on the eve of this year’s NBA All-Star Game, the “Original King of Comedy†Cedric the Entertainer hosted the event, performing a riveting 30 minutes of his latest material in between comedy sets by fellow comedians such as Tommy Davidson (In Living Color), Kevin Hart (Soul Plane), Aries Spears (Mad TV), and DeRay Davis (Scary Movie 4). This hysterical DVD features celebrity cameos by Katt Williams, Nelly & Ashanti and includes uproarious backstage commentary from each comedian that is sure to “bring down the house†in home-theaters across America.
The ALL-STAR COMEDY JAM series recaptures the spirit of past successful tours like The Kings of Comedy, and features some of today’s hottest urban comics. In addition to its all-star lineup, it provides up-and-coming comedians with an opportunity to highlight their immense potential, showcase their creativity, and perform alongside the stalwarts of comedy.
On his partnership with Shaquille O’Neal, Clanagan says, “I am thrilled to collaborate with one of the NBA’s most distinguished athletes on these multi-star live comedy events. The second installment of the ALL-STAR COMEDY JAM series was filmed live at the recent 13th annual American Black Film Festival in Miami and will be released in January 2010. Comedy-genius DL Hughley played host for this stand-up special alongside some of the industry’s most talented, widely regarded, and revered comedians such as; Earthquake, Arnez J, Lavell Crawford and Melanie Comarcho.
