The Marketing to African Americans with Excellence (MAAX) Awards recently named Walton Isaacson Co-Founder Aaron Walton 2015 Advertising Executive of the Year at the 16th Annual Marketing to African Americans with Excellence (MAAX) Summit .
The event was hosted by Target Market News at the Hyatt Gold Coast Hotel in downtown Chicago.
On accepting the award Walton noted, “Marketing to the Black community is a responsibility that the diverse and fiercely talented men and women at Walton Isaacson take seriously. We are committed to excellence in this space. Our clients and consumers deserve nothing less. Culturally meaningful and authentic work is job #1, so it’s rewarding to be recognized for doing what we love.”

The MAAX Awards have been presented annually since 2006 to recognize the contributions, innovations and exceptional performance of African-American professionals in the fields of advertising, marketing, media, public relations and research. Eligible candidates are recommended by the previous recipients, as well as the editors, writers and contributors of Target Market News, and are considered on the basis of the longevity of their careers and the professional accomplishments and contributions that distinguish them within the industry.
Candidates are considered both because they are African-American executives with distinct professional accomplishments, and throughout the course of their careers they have endeavored to promote greater understanding and the growth of the African-American consumer market.
Walton, his partners and their agency have been widely recognized in recent years. In 2013 Walton was named to Ebony Magazine’s Power 100 List, an award given to the nation’s most influential Americans from the worlds of religion, business, media, and the creative arts. He also was named a 2014 Agency Innovator by the Internationalist Magazine while his agency was honored in 2013 with ‘Advertising Agency of the Year’ by Black Enterprise, and as one of the ‘Small Agencies of the Year’ by Advertising Age in 2012. In 2014, Walton Isaacson was also ranked one of the Inc. 5000 fastest growing private companies in the U.S.
