Community of Faith Bible Church will host its annual Mission Conference on Saturday, October 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., on its campus located at 12025 Industrial Avenue in South Gate.
Co-Pastors Bobby Scott and Anthony Kidd announced that Professor Brad Klassen, instructor of biblical exposition at The Master’s Seminary, will be the conference speaker.
Klassen and his family served 12 years as missionaries in the former Soviet Union. While there, he helped develop a church-based training program focused on expository preaching and pastoral ministry. The program has since trained over 450 men, published a significant number of theological resources in the Russian language, and helped several churches in other regions begin similar training programs.
At the conference, Klassen will review “The History of Missions.” The five-part presentation will cover “The Apostle Paul – Grace as the Motivation for Missions,” “John Calvin – Doctrine as the Engine of Missions,” “Jonathan Edwards – Prayer as Passion for Missions,” “William Carey – Sovereignty as the Comfort in Missions,” and “Adoniram Judson – Suffering as the Glory of Missions.”
On Sunday, October 25, at 11 a.m., Klassen will deliver the sermon, based on Romans 10:13-15, entitled, “Why Do We Preach?”
Registration includes a free continental breakfast, a light lunch and child care service.
