On Monday, October 28, Metro will host the first ever Metro to Crenshaw/LAX Business Opportunities Summit in South Los Angeles. The Business Summit will highlight the broad range of business and economic opportunities available at Metro for small and minority owned businesses in the Crenshaw/Inglewood Transportation Corridor, including but not limited to the work that is about to begin on the Crenshaw / LAX Transit Corridor. Walsh / Shea, the contractor for the Crenshaw / LAX Light Rail Transportation Project, will also present information about their procurement and subcontracting opportunities that will be available along the Corridor. In addition, Metro will highlight professional career opportunities, including project management, engineering, and the Bus Operators Academy.
During the Business Summit, senior Metro staff will provide small business owners with information about procurement, Transit Oriented Development, Highway Programs, and more. Business leaders and residents will learn about business opportunities at Metro associated with the Crenshaw Line and how to take advantage of those business and economic opportunities. In addition, small and minority business owners in the Crenshaw/Inglewood Corridor will learn about the multitude of business opportunities that exist at Metro and how they can compete for those dollars.
Metro to Crenshaw/LAX Business Opportunities Summit attendees will not only have the opportunity to interact with senior Metro staff but they will also hear directly from the CEO, Mr. Art Leahy.

The Business Summit will also feature event partners, the Los Angeles Sentinel and the Crenshaw/LAX Community Leadership Council. Attendees will be greeted by the likes of Los Angeles County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, Metro Board Member Jackie Dupont-Walker, and KNBC 4 News Reporter Beverly White. Ms. White will serve as the Mistress of Ceremony and will guide participants through the activities of the day.
