Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom. Whether in person or digitally, Juneteenth celebrations provide meaningful opportunity to commemorate Black struggles and accomplishments, celebrate the spirit of freedom and resilience and continue the work of creating a more just and equitable society for all. County Sup. Holly Mitchell 3rd Annual Juneteenth Celebrations

California African American Museum Juneteenth Wellness Day

Enjoy outdoor wellness events for all ages at the California African American Museum (CAAM) in honor of Juneteenth. Take a 60-minute yoga and meditation flow with Constance Hartwell from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Experience the therapeutic benefits of sound baths with Sol & Sound from 11 a.m. to noon as they lead you in a group meditation. There’s no need for any prior yoga experience, but yoga mats are not included. It is free for all, on first-come and first-serve basis.

The Juneteenth Celebration & Resource Fair, presented by the Office of Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell, is coming back for a third year in collaboration with CicLAvia. Join us from 9:00 am to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 18. In addition to enjoying South LA’s 6.2 miles of open streets for running, biking, skating, walking and skateboarding, you may take use of county and community services, events, performances and more! Street Food Cinema: “DO The Right Thing,” Screening

On Saturday nights, Street Food Cinema (SFC) presents outdoor screenings at a number of locations, including as Will Rogers State Historic Park, Verdugo Par, and The Autry Museum. There’s live music, gourmet food trucks and a wide range of films are all featured during the event. At Los Angeles State Historic Park in Downtown LA on June 17, SFC will screen Spike Lee’s, “Do the Right Thing,” recognizing Juneteenth. R&B and Hip Hop by DJ L-double-E, MC Chellz Evette, and food trucks such as Coco’s Lipsmacking Cupcakes, Belly’s Sliders and Wings, Dilan’s Caribbean Grill, District Burger, MexiBachi, Nacho Me Vegan, Reality Eatzz, and more. Leashed dogs are welcome, and the doors open at 5:30 p.m. 1245 N. Spring St., L.A.

Juneteenth Fireworks Spectacular at Carbillo Beach

In honor of Juneteenth, Cabrillo Beach will be lighting up the night sky with a fireworks show, hosted by the Port of Los Angeles in association with Juneteenth 400, the show will take place on June 21, 3416 W 43rd St., to commemorate and mark the emancipation of African American slaves in the United States on this date in 1865. At 8:45 p.m., the celebration comes to a close with fireworks over the ocean, education, and tributes.
