“We live in a world that is rift with trouble and turmoil-challenges at every turn, but in spite of this negative environment, one must never give up hope because ‘somewhere over the rainbow, blue skies shine.”

These words rang throughout the night within the music, decorum and as the audience recognized 69 years of Post Cotillionettes, the Cotillion Guild, who have come before and have proven that they too exemplify the philosophy of “Believe in Yourself.”

During the event, remarks were given by Links Western Area Director Lorna Hankins; L.A. Links Chapter President Kimberly Beavers Noble, who also served as emcee; and Link Bobbi Tillman.  Also, Dr. Anitha Mitchell, president of the Los Angeles Chapter Charitable Trust, presented more than $34,000 in scholarships to the 13 debutants.

Following the words of wisdom from the speakers and the presentation of scholarships, each debutant was introduced along with their parents and escorts to hundreds of invited guests.  Under glowing flower ladened crystal chandeliers, the Cotillionettes descended the illuminated  glass-like staircase to the dance floor and the white-gloved hands of their  welcoming, proud fathers.

A spectacular platinum setting for the phenomenal 2022, 70th Anniversary Cotillionettes’ Gala with the apropos theme, “Believe in Yourself.”
