The National College Resources Foundation (NCRF) presents the 16th Annual Black College Expo (BCE), Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Los Angeles Convention Center (West Hall), 1201 South Figueroa Street. The BCE will provide information and resources to help middle school, high school, and college students with an opportunity to meet one-on-one with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU?s), public/private universities and community college recruiters. NCRF is helping underserved and underrepresented minorities get the know-how on being accepted into college, paying for school and pursuing careers. Sponsors: Union Bank, McDonalds, Edison International, The Gas Company. Capital One 360, Peace Corp, Toyota and MetroPCS. MetroPCS is providing 1?2 off admission coupons at selective retail stores.

Students from the LA area attending the NCRF?s Black College Expo (Los Angeles) will gain insight into educational resources, scholarship opportunities, financial aid benefits and college readiness. Students can talk to college counselors and financial aid representatives to get guidance on how to apply for these benefits to get into college and help pay for the expense of attending. Seniors are encouraged to bring their high school transcripts and SAT/ACT scores to be reviewed by college admissions recruiters for the possibility of them being accepted on the spot and given scholarship money to attend. Parents are encouraged to attend our FASFA seminar which will be equipped with 25 on-site computer stations to submit financial aid applications and get help on filling out the information.

LA area students will have an opportunity to attend seminars on hot careers, how to write effective essays to get into your dream college, and how to increase their SAT/ACT scores. Founder, Theresa Price who launched the NCRF College Expo sixteen years ago, says, “We are so excited to return to Los Angeles for our 16th year. Our goal is to help as many students as possible be able to go to college. To do this students, 11th and 12th grade can get accepted on the spot to a college, scholarships will be given away on the spot, and students and parents can fill out their free application for student financial aid form and get help right on site with experts. Also, what’s great is there is a college for every kind of student. January 31th is truly a one stop shop to help all students.”

In keeping with the NCRF motto…“Connecting Students to College, Careers & Beyond,” college attendees will be able to meet representatives from corporations that are looking to expand diversity and introduce students to their specific company?s and career fields. This educational event will include a fun-filled day with nearly 100 colleges and university recruiters and vendors on-hand to speak to students and a scholarship presentation with celebrity guest host and performers. Tickets are $10.00 per person (pp) or $8.00 pp (online) and $7.00 pp (groups of 15 or more) are also available.
