Latrice Slaughter is returning TOS vendor, who’s been a staple part of this community and family for the last six years. Her publishing company, Lioness Publishing LLC, is dedicated to serving the greater Los Angeles area by ensuring and assisting aspiring writers in completing books of their own.
“I started this company after writing my first book, “I Love Me”. I wanted to create a company that would allow me to self-publish all of my own books, but also assist other writers in getting through this process, too,” said Slaughter.
Lioness Publishing was created in 2015, and since its start, Slaughter has published a number of books.
A returning TOS vendor, Slaughter found out about the event when “a nice lady, back in 2015, read my book and told me Taste of Soul would be the perfect place to promote my book.”
And it was! The Lioness Publishing founder shared that, as a returning vendor “I know that the Community will always support my cause because they always have. [At TOS] I meet so many people from so many walks of life, so I always gain new, loyal supports that stick by my side and show me so much love.”
Latrice Slaughter will be selling four of her children’s books at the 2022 Taste of Soul. All books are centered around self-love, happiness, and the bullying that’s become more frequent amongst young people.
Besides selling her products, Slaughter shared that what she’s mostly excited for TOS is to see the community come together.
“I’m excited to see SOOO many beautiful shades of Black! Crenshaw Blvd will be full of color, and it’s a beautiful site to see!”
