Lura’s Kitchen, Inc., a multi-generational California benefit corporation founded on the principle of “doing business while doing good,” announced that they are launching “Madear’s Old Fashion Gourmet Teacake Mix Sales Campaign,” with a mission to help restore the tower of the historical Congregational Church of Christian Fellowship (CCCF) in South Los Angeles.
Just in time for Juneteenth, Lura’s Kitchen will donate 20% of the proceeds from the sale of its teacake mixes and cookies through the end of June 2023, joining the effort to save the CCCF Bell Tower that overlooks L.A, a symbol of hope in the Los Angeles community.
Since its start in April 2021, Lura’s Kitchen has been committed to promoting community growth and empowerment through their delicious gourmet dry cookie mixes. Past contributions include film and general education scholarships, food distribution, oratorical awards, financial and in-kind donations to support the unhoused across several states.
“We are excited to partner with the community to help save this important symbol of hope,” said Lura Daniels Ball, president and founder of Lura’s Kitchen, Inc. “Our company is founded on the principle of doing good, and we believe that by working together, we can make a real difference in the lives of those around us and encourage other to do the same.”
This year, Lura’s Kitchen will offer a special “Festival” size baked Teacake that can be purchased in person at the 2023 Leimert Park Village Juneteenth Festival Monday, June 19th, in Los Angeles, CA.
In the future, Lura’s Kitchen, Inc. plans to continue expanding its product line and community engagement efforts to promote growth and empowerment in the Los Angeles area and the current areas they serve: Oakland, CA; Houston, TX; Detroit, MI and Washington, DC.
