On Saturday October 24, the John M. Langston Bar Association will honor legal trailblazers Hon. Bob Bowers, Jr. (ret.), Hon. H. Elizabeth Harris, Robert H. McNeill, Jr., Esq., Katie Murff Trotter, Esq., and William H. Hastie, Esq., at its 24th Annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at The L.A. Hotel Downtown, 333 S. Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, CA. The event, with a cocktail reception at 6:00 p.m. and followed by dinner, recognizes legal professionals who have practiced law for 35+ years and who have made significant contributions within the local community.
“Each year we select honorees based upon their tenure of service, involvement within the community, and how they contribute back to Langston throughout their careers” said Hall of Fame Committee Chairperson Michele Anderson, Esq.
“This group really has assisted our local legal culture: Robert McNeill was a legal commentator during the O.J. Simpson criminal trial, Hon. Bob Bowers has been recognized by Boy Scouts of America, William Hastie led the first successful litigation to force the integration of a San Francisco fire department in the early 1970s, Katie Trotter has done 100+ jury trials with eight special circumstance cases, and Hon. H. Elizabeth Harris has been featured on the television show “48 Hours.”
