Special “Passage” Contending for Oscar Awards

David Massey, the first African American Filmmaker ever Oscar-Nominated for “Best Live Action Short Film” (for 1992’s “Last Breeze of Summer” which he Produced,) along with Producer Sandra Evers-Manly, have presented Massey’s newest Short Film Project: “Passage” at two very recent events: The first screening was held at the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens, NY, on November 19, and the second screening took place at Raleigh Studios’ Chaplin Theater in Hollywood on November 23.

Educational Theatre Institute (ETI) Announces the Production of “The Seven Maids From Stockbridge” at West Angeles Performing Arts Theater

The ETI production of the writer, Ken Sagoes’ story of THE SEVEN MAIDS FROM STOCKBRIDGE,will take place on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at the West Angeles Performing Arts Theater at 3020 Crenshaw Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90016. Proceeds from this fundraiser will provide access to arts education for underserved youth. It will be one show only at 3:00 PM. Tickets are now on sale.

This time around, the Sentinel trekked over to the Ruskin Group Theatre in Santa Monica to watch the screenplay’s rebirth, which was met by a quaint, intimate setting with quietly dimmed lights. The set stayed true to form, positioning thick-laced coveralls and placemats over the worn kitchen furnishings, newspapers and cigarettes on the small wooden dining table, and an old olive couch doubled as a day bed for Mama’s grandson to sleep on.
