Farrakhan salutes Nipsey Hussle

Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan paid his respects to the late rapper and entrepreneur Nipsey Hussle at the memorial outside of the hip hop artist’s The Marathon Clothing store located in South Los Angeles. Flanked by Min Tony Muhammad, his Los Angeles representative, the Minister spoke to the crowd assembled in the parking lot for about 15 minutes. He saluted Nipsey Hussle for rising out of difficult circumstance to become a community builder. South LA Teachers Participate in Environmental Institute

This process mimics acidification caused by increased CO2 in the air related to climate change. Both teachers were participating in the first of three eight-hour sessions in the Environmental Teacher Institute held at LADWP headquarters in downtown.

Assemblymember Sydney Kamlager-Dove’s Bill to Protect Children with Autism Moves Ahead in the State Legislature with Bipartisan Support

Assemblymember Sydney Kamlager-Dove’s (D-Los Angeles) bill, AB 189 (Kamlager-Dove) that would designate autism professionals as mandated reporters passed the Assembly Public Safety Committee  with unanimous support. The bill now heads to the Appropriations Committee. AB 189 clarifies that all Qualified Autism Service Practitioners (QASPs) are considered mandated reporters under the Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA). Mandated reporters are people who are required by law to report known or suspected child maltreatment.
