HBCU Caravan College Fair at SMC Attracts Nearly 500 Attendees

On Thursday, Oct. 26, The Quad at Santa Monica College’s main campus hosted SMC’s first-ever HBCU Caravan, a college fair highlighting Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs) from across the country, attended by nearly 500 students.

SMC to Transition All Classes to Remote Learning Environment

Santa Monica College (SMC) has announced that all classes—including those that generally require in-person instruction, wherever possible—will transition to a remote learning environment, effective Wednesday, March 18, to limit the potential transmission of COVID-19. There are currently no confirmed cases of the coronavirus at SMC.

Five Santa Monica College students and a senior from Point Loma High School were presented the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Westside Coalition 2016 Education Awards at a ceremony held Jan. 18 to commemorate Dr. King’s birthday.
