Jewell Loyd hits Buzzer-Beater to Defeat Sparks 90-89

The Los Angeles Sparks hustled to the final seconds against the Seattle Storm. With 0.3 seconds left, Storm guard Jewell Loyd took an in-bound pass and sank a clutch three-pointer, allowing the Seattle Storm to survive the Sparks 90-89.  

Sparks Live by the Three Against Indiana Fever

Los Angeles Sparks guard Riquna Williams matched her career high of seven three-pointers in their 90-76 win over the Indiana Fever. This is the Sparks fourth consecutive win, ascending them to a 7-3 overall record as the Fever has 4-6.

L.A. Sparks Bring the Thunder Against Minnesota Lynx

The Los Angeles Sparks earned their fourth win in the Wubble after defeating their long-time rivals the Minnesota Lynx 97-81. This is the first time the two teams met since forward Seimone Augustus was traded to the Sparks after her 14-season stint with the Lynx.

She continued to be a reliable contributor coming off the bench with 13 points.

The Los Angeles Sparks could not overcome the speed and accuracy of the Connecticut Sun in the WNBA Semifinals. In the Walter Pyramid in California State University Long Beach, the Sparks lost 56-78 and were out of Playoff contention.

The Sparks’ Sunday game against the Washington Mystics was historic in several ways. Their 98-81 win over the Mystics made them the first WNBA franchise to have 450 regular season wins. Sparks head coach Derek Fisher wished WNBA legend Lisa Leslie a happy birthday and attributed the franchise’s success to her efforts.

Accurate shooting and aggressive defense gave the Los Angeles Sparks an 86-74 win over the Las Vegas Aces. Los Angeles lived by the three, shooting at 44 percent from behind the arc during the game.
