Many Say Education of King’s Life, Legacy Remains Critical for Young People

Brainly, the world’s largest online learning platform, recently surveyed more than 1,700 U.S. students to understand better what they know – and don’t know – about Dr. King, his life, and his legacy. It turns out; the answer is not much. According to the data, 63 percent of U.S. students incorrectly identified Dr. King’s accomplishments or were not aware of some of the most important things he did to contribute to America’s Civil Rights Movement. 

L.A. County Relies on Strong Hold of Community Assistance to Respond to COVID-Related Disparities; $75,000 Grants Available to Non-Profit Organizations

Los Angeles continues to see a level of stabilization within the measurements of the community spread. Although that is a step in the right direction, the county still holds a sense of caution over the community. Public officials encourage all Angelenos to try to stay inside as much as possible and there is a need to go outside one must follow physical distancing procedures. The community continues to rally around one another either through nonprofit organizations or individual volunteering. The one way to waiver this storm, is together as one sound body.

Free Nonprofit Tax Seminar in Torrance

Nov. 2 The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) will host a free seminar for nonprofit and exempt organizations on Thursday, November 2, 2017, in Torrance at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (check-in begins at 8:00 a.m.). Local nonprofit leaders and tax practitioners are encouraged to attend and learn how state tax laws apply to the operation of their organizations.
