Inglewood STEM Fest Merges Science with Sports

Non-profit organization Science of Sport collaborated with six Los Angeles pro sports franchises to host the first annual Inglewood STEM Fest. The event was for kids from kindergarten to sixth grade.

Local Prep Stars Become NFL First-Round Draft Picks

Among the 32 first-round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft, five were natives of Southern California. Oregon edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux, USC wide receiver Drake London, Washington corner Trent McDuffie, Ohio State wide receiver Chris Olave, and Utah linebacker Devin Lloyd had their dreams come true on Thursday.

On February 11th, Lowe’s Home Team Player and Los Angeles Rams wide receiver, Robert Woods, joined Rebuilding Together Of The City of Angels and Lowe’s, the Official Home Improvement Sponsor of the NFL, to provide essential repairs for 16 homes in Los Angeles neighborhoods including View Park as part of Kickoff to Rebuild. 

Rose Bowl Hall of Fame to Add 3 Inductees at Pasadena Luncheon

Former USC running back Anthony Davis, ex-Big Ten Commissioner Jim Delany and All-American Michigan defensive standout Ron Simpkins will be inducted into the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame today. The trio will be formally inducted during a ceremony and luncheon outside the Rose Bowl stadium, just two days before the 108th Rose Bowl Game.

Aaron, Elder Overcame Hate to Achieve Records, Milestones

Henry Aaron made history with one swing of his bat. A year later and on the other side of Georgia, Lee Elder made history with one swing of his driver. They both overcame racist threats to reach milestones that will always be part of sports lore. “Hammerin’ Hank” supplanted Babe Ruth at the top of baseball’s all-time home run list and Elder became the first Black golfer to play in the Masters.
