NASCAR Honors Local Fallen Veteran

NASCAR honored the life and service of local fallen military member SSG Conrad A. Robinson. His name was put on the car of Cup Series rookie Todd Gilliland for the Coca-Cola 600 on Memorial Day.

Local Tennis Club Hosts Team Tennis Tournament

The Rancho Cienega Tennis Club (RCTC) will be hosting its fifth annual Rancho Team Tennis Tournament from May 28-30. Due to the construction at Rancho Cienega Park, the tournament will take place at Roger’s Park in Inglewood.

Division of Boating and Waterways Launches National Safe Boating Week (May 18 – 24)

With the official kickoff of the boating season approaching this coming Memorial Day weekend, the Division of Boating and Waterways (DBW) is reminding water enthusiasts to keep themselves and their loved ones safe during National Safe Boating Week and throughout the year. DBW advises boaters to always check the water conditions­­––whether it’s the California coast or inland rivers and lakes––and their safety equipment, and always wear a life jacket.

U.S. VETS CELEBRATES MEMORIAL DAY VETERANS TO BE COMMEMORATED AT 25TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION; RENAMING AND DEDICATION TO TAKE PLACE AT INGLEWOOD FACILITY FRIDAY, MAY 25

WHAT:            U.S.VETS celebrates its 25th Anniversary at its first veteran’s facility in Inglewood. Highlighting the Memorial Day event will be the renaming of U.S.VETS LA to U.S.VETS INGLEWOOD.   Celebrating 25 years of service in the Inglewood Neighborhood of Los Angeles, the Memorial Day / Weekend event will host political dignitaries and special guests. Congresswoman Waters Honors the Memory of our Fallen Soldiers

Congresswoman Maxine Waters, Ranking Member of the House Financial Services Committee, honored the memory of all the men and women who have sacrificed their lives in service to our nation during a series of Memorial Day events in the 43rd District of California on Monday, May 29.

Memorial Day Service

May 29 On Monday, May 29, 2017, the city of Inglewood invites the public to attend the 69th Annual Memorial Day Service. The ceremony begins at 11:00 a.m. at Inglewood City Hall, located at 1 West Manchester Boulevard, on the South Mall courtyard in front of the Memorial Obelisk Monument. This year’s ceremonies will include the playing of Taps, Presentation of Colors, remarks by special military guests and a memorial wreath laying service. Local and community based organizations will also take part in the ceremonies. The City of Inglewood’s Memorial Day Service is free and open to the public. Information
