The Lo Down on Lakers’ Media Day

The reinvented Los Angeles Lakers held Media Day at the UCLA Health Training Facility on Friday with the return of some familiar faces and a plethora of new ones. Two of the most recognizable faces were LeBron James, who returned for his second season in the purple and gold, and Anthony Davis, who was acquired in a blockbuster summer trade that sent the former Lakers’ young core to New Orleans.

GRAMBLING, La., —Grambling State University recently announced the launch of a long-term partnership with a new dining service provider SodexoMAGIC. Magic Johnson Steps Down As Lakers President Of Basketball Operations

As the Lakers faced the end of their season and their sixth straight failure to obtain a playoff spot, another startling announcement was made moments before that game was to commence. Shortly after Luke Walton’s last routine pregame press conference for the season on Tuesday, Johnson called for an impromptu press conference where it was assumed that many things would happen. Shockingly, what did happen was that his announcement that was stepping down from his role as president of basketball operations for the Lakers.

$70M Magic Johnson Park Renovation Breaks Ground

The project represents the largest investment in a park improvement ever by the County of Los Angeles, and is the first phase of a master plan that is slated to dramatically transform Magic Johnson Park over the next two decades.

Transformation of Magic Johnson Park to Begin in 2019

Magic Johnson Park is on the verge of a dramatic transformation, after the Board of Supervisors voted to kick off the first phase of a master plan that will add a host of new amenities to this 120-acre community oasis in Willowbrook.
