OASC Celebrates Audacity To Hope Day with New Members Reception

Our Authors Study Club, Inc. (OASC) will observe the 2023 National “Audacity To Hope Day” with a special reception to welcome new members on Sunday, June 4, at 2 p.m.  The event will take place at the newly opened Hidden History Museum, located at 2131 W. Jefferson Blvd in the Jefferson Park neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Evers-Manley Headlines CCCF Women’s Day Service

Sandra J. Evers-Manly will be honored at the Women’s Day Service on Sunday, March 15, at 11 a.m., at Congregational Church of Christian Fellowship Los Angeles (CCCF), 2085 S. Hobart Boulevard in Los Angeles. Women’s Day is sponsors by CCCF’s Sisters in Christ Fellowship (SINC). The theme is “Fearfully and Wonderfully Made” based on Psalm 139:14. The Century City Delta Sigma Theta Alumnae Chapter will also participate. Johnson Headlines Holman UMC Prayer Breakfast

  Philanthropist and author Cookie Johnson shared excerpts from her memoir, “Believing in Magic,” at the prayer breakfast sponsored by Holman United Methodist Church on April 14. The theme was “Reset: Prayer, Power, Purpose.” The program featured food by G’s Catering, entertainment by Jubilant Voices, Greg Walker, KJLH Radio Free Voices and Lura Daniels-Ball and video presentations by AIDS Healthcare Foundation, Ethiopian Airlines and the Black Cooperative Investment Fund. Also, Holman members Lillian Farrah, Theodore King and Lisa Nicholas participated and Aundrae Russell, KJLH-FM broadcaster, served as emcee.
